High-Low Skirt Refashion // DIY

It's been quite busy around here with studying for midterms (ew!)

With procrastination in full swing, I am here to share an awesome (and easy!) craft with you!

Did I say procrastination? I meant studying. Totally meant studying.

Aaaaanyways...look! A craft!

Isn't that a cute little high-low skirt? All it requires is a quick cut and an easy stitch along the hem.

Before I get to the tutorial though, I'd like to share with you REPURPOSE OCTOBER!

I have a fantastic lineup of DIYs where I completely repurpose some common items. You are not going to want to miss it!

During the entire month of October, I'll be posting like normal on Sundays, but all of my projects will be of repurposed items!

And the best part? Throughout the month, I want YOU (yes, you!) to send me your repurposed crafts! At the end of the month, I will make a feature post of all my favorites! See my Contact page for my e-mail!

Excited yet? Don't try and hide it!

Now on to the tutorial for the high-low skirt.

This is what it looked like before:

Introducing REPURPOSE OCTOBER

Get excited.

Like jump out of your seat and scream whilst dancing excited.

C'mon. Get up and do it. Nobody is watching.

I'm super excited to introduce to you my first ever series!

REPURPOSE OCTOBER.

Here's what's going down:

Every week in October, I will be doing my normal Sunday DIY/Tutorial/Crafty posts, BUT they will all be centered around repurposing an item for something completely different.

I have quite a few tricks up my sleeves so you won't want to miss a single week!

Throughout the whole month, I will be encouraging you, my lovely, talented readers, to be sending me YOUR repurposed crafts. That's right! I want to hear from you! Have a repurposed craft tutorial that you think I'll love? Send it to me! At the end of October, I will be making a feature post of all my favorites.

So get started e-mailing me all those great ideas! See my Contact Me page for my e-mail!

Get excited!

Golden Lusciousness // A Favor

Hello, friends! I have a small favor to ask of you.

I normally don't make posts like this (especially since this is a crafting blog), but I am making an exception for a very special person.

My beautiful and talented friend/roommate Kyla has made it to the top 25 of a CW Star contest.

She has a personality as big as her hair, which she lovingly refers to as the "golden lusciousness."

Not only is she gorgeous on the outside (we seriously can't walk down the sidewalk without at least one guy checking her out), but she has a great heart and is truly one of the most kind, fun to be around, caring people I know.

She would be so perfect for this! Please just take a few seconds and go to the link below. The video is only 26 seconds long and if you watch it from start to finish, she gets a vote. If you click replay, she gets another vote so feel free to put it on repeat if you have the time!

The 10 with the most votes continue on! I'll be sure to keep you all posted on the results.

This is her:

Thank you all for voting! It means a lot to me (and Kyla!).

You're the best! :)

Gold Triangle Earrings // DIY

Happy Sunday!

If you missed last week's Number Pillow DIY, I highly recommend you go check it out!

Today I have an incredibly simple project for you all, which you're going to love!

Check out these cute gold triangle earrings!

I found these cute gold triangles at Michael's in the jewelry clearance. Although the concept of this project is quite simple, it just goes to show that simple, cheap crafts can look just as good as the fancy ones!

Number Pillow // DIY

Happy Sunday!

My mom came to visit me this weekend and we went to the Country Living Fair here in Columbus, which was AWESOME to say the least. We went last year and loved it, so we have been looking forward to this for a year and it was definitely worth the wait!

This is what we are making today:

My mom and I were out at some yard sales in Columbus earlier in the summer and we came across this:

What is it? We didn't know. We actually still don't know.

But it's basically like really thick, off-white belting type stuff. There was 50 yards of it and we got it for $3.00, making it 6 cents a yard. We don't really know why we bought it, but we knew it had to be useful for something!

I can't take credit for this awesome idea of this number pillow - it was my mom's idea. So all the credit for the creativity of this project goes to her!

Hello again, friends! I hope you had a fantastic week. Ready to see what we're making today?

Lately I've been loving bib necklaces with beautifully intricate details.

So I decided to make one for myself (on a budget!)

Thank you to my beautiful roommate & friend Melody for modeling! :)

Mid-Week Sneak Peek

Hello, friends!

I hope your week has been going well.

Yesterday I was featured on the super awesome, fantastic, spectacular U-Create! Kari was sweet enough to feature my TOMS Refashion (see that post here). You can see the post on U-Create here.

Now that you're all updated, here is this week's Mid-Week Sneak Peek!

And here it is:

What is all that? What could I possible make from it?

You'll have to wait and see! Find out this Sunday in my weekly DIY tutorial.

Have a great rest of your week!

TOMS Refashion // DIY

Hello, friends! I hope you had a lovely week.

**NEW: This post was featured on U-Create! See it here**

If you're here from U-Create, welcome! I'm so glad you have decided to stop by. I hope you'll stay a while and look around!

Two summers ago, I bought a pair of TOMS. Loved them. Loooooved them. Until I wore them too much and got holes on the heels. I was quite sad. They lasted me a while and they were incredibly comfortable, but I wasn't ready to part with them quite yet.

I let them sit in the back of my shoe closet for quite some time. I even used them as my "nasty lab shoes" for chem lab last year, but they deserve more than that, don't you think?

So I revived them.

I made these coral skinny jeans, too! Learn how I made them here.

Nifty, huh? I'm quite pleased with the improvement. This is what they looked like before:

Sad little hole-y shoes :(

With a little fabric, fabric glue, and (optional) needle and thread, you can fix your TOMS, too!

(Thanks to my friend/roommate Melody for being my foot model!)
