Sweater Bangle Bracelet // DIY

Have old sweaters lying around that you never wear? Today we're taking those old sweaters and putting them to good use by making them into bracelets. Say whaaat?

Yup. It's called recycling. Or refashioning. Or being a hipster. Or whatever.

And who doesn't want to be a hipster?

If you like recycled or repurposed item projects (or even if you don't), be sure to check out this zipper bracelet and this [SERIOUSLY AWESOME] raincoat. It'll blow your mind.

Black & White Typography Canvas // DIY

I took a commercial art class in high school and absolutely loved it, so I appreciate anything with beautiful typography.

I wanted to make some art to hang in my room (the concrete brick walls are a little sad!) so I decided to make a chalkboard-inspired black and white canvas painting.

While I have pretty darn good handwriting (thanks, grandma!) I'm not that good, so I designed the word layout and then traced them and painted over the tracing. You can have basically zero artistic skill and still do this, I promise!

Gold Shoes // DIY

If you ask me, these are some of the sweetest kicks around.

It's like having 24K gold feet. But without paying for actual 24K gold feet.

So feel free to start calling me Midas.

Side note: I have a funny story about "kicks"...that song Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People?
When I first heard that song, I thought they were saying, "all the other kids with the pumped up kickstands" when really they were saying, "all the other kids with the pumped up kicks you better run, better run..."
Whoops.

Also, Imma give credit where credit is so rightfully due - go check out Allison's fantastic blog and tutorial where I got the idea for this!

Prime Time Clock (Nerd Alert!) // DIY

My mom and I are nerds. There's really no denying it (just look at the title of this blog!)

So for Christmas, I made my mom a clock. But not any old clock. Oh noooo, this is a prime time clock.

Yup. A prime time clock. It has prime numbers. Feel free to laugh now.

Fabric Button Earrings // DIY

It has been a while since the last post, but I decided to take a little break from blogging over the holidays to spend time with family. But alas, I have returned!

You may also notice the little facelift. So I haven't been completely lazy over break.

Today we are making fabric button earrings!

If you have zero crafting skill whatsoever, keep reading! This is the perfect project for the anti-crafters out there.

I love the vintage look of them.
