Blue Polka Dot Skirt Refashion

Happy Memorial Day! And a big thank you to all who are currently serving our country or have served in the past.

It has been obscenely hot here in my opinion. On Saturday my friends and I went to a place called SkyZone which is basically a large room filled with trampolines - super fun! After church yesterday, we went to the new Waffle House near campus.

I can't wait for summer. No homework, cool job, and lots of crafts. Lots of crafts. Prepare yourselves. I have many ideas in store.

In other news, I've decided that my roommates for next year are some of the coolest people ever. Which I guess I already knew. But anyways, I'm so excited to be living with them.

Want to know what we're doing this week?

Another refashion? Yes please!

I feel like I say this every week, but this really is one of my simplest and cheapest tutorials yet!

The wind was blowing, so I went a little Marilyn:

And since Kellyn was taking the pictures, I got a little goofy...

Now that you've seen our little photoshoot, let's get on with the tutorial!

Vintage Peach Dress Refashion

Time for another tutorial! Notice I'm a few days late? Oops. It wasn't only a busy week, but a busy weekend as well.

Thursday and Friday night my great friend Katie came to visit since she's out of school already like all other college students except us Buckeyes. We had a great time! It was so great to see her again. Then yesterday, I was able to spend the evening with my parents which was really nice.

Today we are doing a refashion tutorial! It's pretty simple with great results.

I got this dress at Goodwill. I loved the vintage-y look, it was cheap, and not much needed to be done to it. Perfect.

This is what it looked like before:

And after:

It reminds me a bit of something Kate Middleton would wear. Love her style.

Quarter Ring // DIY

Hello, all! I was very excited with the positive response to last week's lace shorts tutorial - you readers are the bomb diggity.

It's been a decently busy week, but nothing compared to next week. My poor friends have had to listen to me complain about next week's three midterms, speech, and job training (all within 4 days!) and it's not even next week yet.

Today we will be doing another of my favorite projects - the quarter ring.

I actually did it with my friend Katie back during winter break, but it's definitely still a worthwhile project to share.

We got the idea here so be sure to stop on by and check it out.

Sorry for making you scroll through so many pictures, but I had so much fun finding cool places around the dorm to take some shots of it.

Lace Shorts // DIY

It's been another busy week! I can't believe we're more than halfway through the quarter. That means it's almost the end of my freshman year! It's still weird to think that I'm in college, let alone that I'm almost done with my first year.

My dad and brother are here to visit me. We went  to a Chemistry Department dinner/awards thingy last night. It's so great to see them! I'll have to post pictures of my brother all dressed up - my mom got him a periodic table tie and I can't wait to show it off!

Since last week's post wasn't really a WOW post, I think I'm definitely making up for it with this one.

Today we are making lace shorts! I am in loooove with these. So cute and relatively easy!

(Thank you to my lovely friend Kellyn for being my photographer!)

This is the picture on pinterest that gave me the idea:

I think I replicated them pretty well, huh?

It's a kind of lengthy tutorial, but the project itself doesn't take too long. I just like to be specific. And trust me - it'll all be worth it in the end!
